Food Allergy Alert – Soya – Morrisons 6 Carrot Cake Slices

The Food Standards Agency issued the following food allergy alert on Tuesday 19th April 2011:

Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC recalls one date code of Morrisons 6 Carrot Cake Slices due to a packaging error resulting in incorrect labelling information

Morrisons 6 Carrot Cake Slices


Due to a packaging error, some packets of one date code of the above product contain a different cake product containing soya. As a result, the presence of soya is not declared in the ingredients list or on the allergy advice box. Therefore, this is a potential health risk for individuals who are allergic or sensitive to soya.

Best before date: 11 May 2011

Action taken by the company:

The company has withdrawn all affected stock and recalled from customers with a soya allergy or intolerance. Customer notices have been displayed in stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the recall and the actions they can take if they have purchased the product. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations who will inform their at risk members of the recall.

No other Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers:
